Identification Tags of the Central Empire

After my initial essay «The Identification Tag» (in which I traced the evolution and birth of the first identification methods), I’m proposing now, a couple of years later, this new publication made with the valuable contribution of Roberto Todero. Together, we have analyzed and studied in detail every tag model existing during the Great War in the German Imperial and Austro-Hungarian armies. Thanks to some documentary and iconographic sources from the time, it was possible to recognize and decipher the models adopted by the imperial armies.
